Aaaand that's why they kidnapped so brazenly and weren't sneaky at all. Luring the princesses to home turf, where they'll have the upper hand, clever clever :P And hey, a close up of Queen Rosanne too! ^_^
...what I wonder though - if they only wanted to get rid of them why did they not dispose of them at first rather than prince(ss)nap their spouses? - especially with Hana and Linne who they could have rid off instead of only incapacitated as they did...
...as for the advantage of home turf: before they had the advantage of numbers (2 against 1) which is now evened out (3 against 3)...
@mjkj: Well, the main point being that if they brutally murdered Linne and Hana in front of Varik and Sasha, they lose leverage with them. But if they kill them where they can't see, they can tell them any number of things.
And Celyse is very VERY difficult to defeat, which is why she wasn't even nearby when it occurred.
Basically the Queens have this idea that it'll be easier for them to battle it out on familiar ground for them, and unfamiliar ground for the princesses (and we shall see next chapter if this even works, eheh). But story-wise, it's because this story is more fairy-tale than anything and bad guys reaaallly like to be dramatic and eeevil ^_^;;
"We can be rid of them for good" ... see? They're not evil, they fight for good :-)
The major question is why they didn't lure the princess here one by one. Would be even better advantage of numbers. Of course ... unless the path here was so hard the princess needed to cooperate to get here ....
And they aren't going to shank them in their sleep because...?
You know what, never mind. I'm going to give the girls the benefit of the doubt and say they're on rotating night watch duty so nobody can sneak up on them. They seem smart enough to think of that.
