Ah yes, smoldering ruins, as any good hero should leave their enemies' castle ^_-
Awww, yay! Everyone is back together, and things are on the mend. Theeee eeeend ^_^ And that wraps up this plotline! Now, I say this plot line because I'm by noo means done with these characters ^_^ I've enjoyed writing them so much that I would love to do a few other short adventures with them! For sure, there is going to be a short bonus story in the book, as long as the kickstarter is successful, so that's another way you can get a story about the girls ^_^
I will keep people updated on my various platforms, my twitter ( @TriaElf9) my tumblr, and my deviant art account ( http://triaelf9.deviantart.com/ ). So keep on checking back for more info about the PR ladies! ^_^
That was a really fun read! I look forward to seeing the extra content, but I like how this turned out on its own.
Will the extras be print-only, or will they be posted online as well? I'm short on funds, but I might buy a copy of the book if it's made, especially if the extras are print-exclusive.
The bonus story mentioned in the kickstarter is only in the book yeah ^_^ The other stories I'm hoping to do will probably be online, though currently I'm focusing just on the bonus content for the book ^_^ I should have up more info on that hopefully on this page, but at the least, on my DA, twitter and tumblr.
@TriaElf9: Hard, but not impossible. For fantasy reference, see Games of Thrones: "What kind of fire can burn stone? Dragon fire". If you want something more scientific, Chlorine Trifluoride will set SAND on fire. Dioxygen Difluoride can react explosively when liquid at -180C. Like, for example with water ice. (See the "Things I Won't Work With" blog by Derek Lowe)
... and that still not totalling the castle.
I've been at lot of castle ruins where only parts of two walls were still standing and without signboards you wouldn't recognize well from tower. Granted, it was mostly caused by several centuries without maintenance, not several minutes of heroes visit.
@hkmaly: Well, Celyse's fire is none of those things ^_^;; And not read GoT either ^_^;;
Castle ruins and leaving a castle IN ruins are a totally different usage of the word. The insides are trashed and bits are on fire, but it's not like they set off a bomb and leveled the area, and as you say, the ruins from over thousands of years are very hard to pull off in a couple of hours ^_^;;
@hkmaly: That might give her a level up, but currently it's not on the level of any sort of dragon fire or anything like that.
Ah, yeah, haven't seen it.
Well, yeah, a lot of older castles if they're not kept up will just fall apart over time. But yeah, I meant that the castle is in ruins rather than it is totalled or flattened ^_^
I've been to Hiroshima, and seen the dome and even with something of that magnitude, the dome still resembles a building. It wasn't directed at it, but it takes a lot to take down a building, much less a stone and mortar castle (instantly at least)
@TriaElf9: Look at some before and after images. It's counterintuitive, but the dome is one of few buildings left standing, BECAUSE the bomb exploded ABOVE it and therefore the force went downwards. Lot of buildings around were totalled, INCLUDING the Hiroshima Castle (although it apparently wasn't instant, explosion "just" destroyed some pillars and castle collapsed as a result ; also, the castle was mostly from wood). And that was SMALL nuclear bomb.
(Some report from Nagasaki: "The wreckage of a church, approximately 1,800 feet east of X in Nagasaki, was one of the few masonry buildings still recognizable and only portions of the walls of this structure were left standing. These walls were extremely thick (about 2 feet).")
I'm not sure if someone actually tried to destroy stone and mortar castle with atomic bomb (I mean, most castles are relic, but people testing atomic bomb might've have less respect of history), but I wouldn't bet on it left standing.
@hkmaly: It's a lot more complicated than that, the reason it did so much damage was less from the initial explosion and more from the shock wave bouncing back off the valley walls, since Hiroshima is in a valley. Nagasaki took less damage because the blast was not contained. Actually, I've been to the spot where the bob went off, it's over a tiny graveyard a few blocks away, the dome was a little off to the side, but again, yeah, a little off topic.
Anywho, Ceylse didn't set off a bomb. Currently she has only burny powers and they've left the castle in not pristine condition.
